This is a 3D effects and simulations school assignment that I need to render in layers from Maya Arnold and assembled in a 2D
video compositing in After Effects. This is where a spaceship fly-by a camera in a raining open sky environment, with heat haze generated
when the spaceship leaves toward screen right. The 3D model was provided by Pluralsight, as it is offering Free April Month Trial during COVID19 stay home circuit breaker period.
Layers of effects and simulations:
• Rain.
• Rain Splatter on Spaceship.
• Spaceship propulsion engine Heat Haze
• Speed FX element.
• Atmospheric Clouds.
Practical skills:
• Volumetric streak particles emission.
• Collider object setup.
• Event creation of secondary point particles (splatter).
• Compositing of rain element in video compositing DCC.
• Surface emission of cloud particles.
• Manipulation of rendered cloud particles into Heat Haze in video DCC.
• Creation of the sense of speed.
• Creation of atmospheric 3D clouds.
• Final video compositing to marry all effects layers into a unified sequence.
The 3D pre-rendered spacecraft and background image sequence are provided by:
